The Pocpoc waterfall is one of the most impressive natural attractions in the Cusco region, located 30 kilometers from the Inca capital, in the Urquillos Valley. The waterfall is 50 meters high and its source is Lake Piuray, which was used by the Incas to irrigate the lands of the Sacred Valley.
To visit this natural wonder, you need to take transportation from Cusco to the town of Chinchero and from there begin a one-hour hike along the trail that passes through the Quebrada de las Wacas Incas de Chinchero (Chincana). The return takes an hour and a half, but it is worth it for the natural spectacle and the panoramic view of the valley.
It is a great option for those who want to discover a different and enchanting place without going too far from Cusco or before heading to Ollantaytambo.
