Arequipa - Peru
This tour begins with your arrival in the city of Arequipa, either by plane or bus, where you will have time to visit the Juanita Mummy Museum, the Santa Catalina Cathedral, and the historic center, and then proceed to the longest and deepest canyon in the world.
Arrival at Arequipa airport and transfer to your hotel in the city center, giving you time to rest and explore the city on your own. Overnight at the hotel.
At 7:30 a.m., the bus will pick you up from your hotel to begin the tour, stopping at Patawasi Pampa Cañahuas to observe wild vicuñas and taste typical local dishes. You will admire different active volcanoes before arriving in the town of Chivay.
Upon arrival, you will enjoy a traditional regional lunch with a variety of local foods, accompanied by regional dance and music. You will have free time to relax at the Caleras hot springs. Overnight in Chivay.
Early in the morning, we will head to the condor viewpoint called “Cruz del Condor,” stopping at exclusive spots to take photos and enjoy a 30-minute walk along the canyon edges. Around 11:00 a.m., we will return to Chivay, and at 1:00 p.m., we will take the bus with stops at different places such as natural viewpoint landscapes, lagoons, small lakes, etc.
Our last stop is at “Lagunillas,” where this viewpoint offers a panoramic view of small lagoons that seem like mirrors reflecting the sky; it is also the habitat of Andean flamingos and other birds—undoubtedly a great photo opportunity. Finally, we will arrive in the city of Puno (bus terminal, gate No. 2) between approximately 7:15 p.m. and 7:45 p.m.
