Cusco, also known as “Qosqo”, is a city in the Incas region, in the center-south of Peru. It is one of the oldest cities that have been continuously inhabited in the Americas. Some time ago it was the capital of the vast and powerful Empire of the Incas. Currently, the city retains a large part of its architecture, such as walls of carved stone, which is usually preserved in the cements and colonial structures of the Spaniards. In 1983, Cusco was designated by UNESCO with a World Heritage Site.
